When my dad bought me my first computer back in 2003 it was a basic setup which costed around 21k, it has AMD 3000+ processor, 512 RAM, e-Sys Motherboard (with only one PCI express slot), 80GB hard drive and a 14 inch CRT monitor. It is really an outdated one in comparison to today's specs, but I made the most of it.
Still the computer is working fine. My dad used it for a while and he didn't like it because he hates computers, then I gave it to my mom for her work related to teaching in her school.
I used to customize the shit out of the desktop appearance :D
Wasn't a big fan of gaming until Max Payne (the first part), I would say that was the first mainstream Computer Game I've played, but it was Half-Life 1 which kicked a lot of interest in computer games, I played it from the beginning to the end almost non-stop.
My interest was limited to basic games due to the fact that I did not have a gaming rig which can play all high end games, and I was still in college.
So I waited, and after getting into my job, saved a few bucks and invested on my first rig, my sweet savings from my salary :')
My current PC's configuration:
Processor - Intel E8400 Core 2 Duo (3.0 Ghz)
Motherboard - ASUS P5Q-E Motherboard
RAM - G-Skill 4 GB – 800Mhz
Graphics - XFX Radeon HD 5770, 1GB
Mouse - Logitech Rumble-Pad Wireless
Keyboard - Razor Lycosa keyboard <3
HDD1 - Segate 500GB 7200 (internal)
HDD2 - HP 160GB (External)
HDD3 - WD 1TB my book (External)
Some pictures:
XFX Radeon HD 5770 an affordable beast!
The logo says it all ;)
This pic was taken after setting up my computer, all hardware was bought from Lamington road, Mumbai. The above picture shows an Nvidia Palit GS8400 GPU(very basic), I had to purchase it as the motherboard didn't have any display port, HD 5770 was purchased later, while Palit GS8400 is a crappy card for playing games at high settings, it gave me playable 30FPS on Half-Life 2.
I tinkered with it a lot, like configuring multiple displays and other useless shit, but hey! It was fun :D
And finally, the CPU-Z and GPU-Z stats for my CPU and GPU.
Hope you liked it :) Thanks for reading!
